Treehouse Spotlight: The Woods Maine

The Woods Maine treehouse was made to celebrate a special part of Maine reserved for those willing to explore beyond traditional getaways. Designed by Pete Nelson and built by our team at Nelson Treehouse & Supply, every detail has been thoughtfully selected to create a space you’ll enter and never want to leave. A two-bedroom, two-bathroom house in the trees – whitewashed barn wood, a full kitchen with luxury appliances, cozy eating nook, elegant brass fixtures, and expansive window views. The Woods Maine brings together the best of rustic and refined.

Pete and the crew built The Woods Maine in 2019. Elevated amidst a lush canopy in Norway, Maine, this high-end treehouse immerses you in the fresh mountain air, pristine lakes, and vibrant, changing seasons.

Guests can explore the local towns and best-kept secrets, step away from the bustle and the guide books and become a part of the lasting spirit of adventure. Or they can decide to just lay low at the treehouse and enjoy the privately owned 10 acres with access to Lake Pennesseewassee.

The Woods Maine is located in beautiful Norway, Maine, tucked away from the coast in a rustic, woodsy, good-vibes-only kind of place. The local town has a good variety of everyday needs and exciting attractions.

The Woods treehouse is a dreamy getaway for groups of 2 to 4 people with plenty of room to spread out and relax after a day of adventuring. Nearby hiking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, fat biking, skiing and ATV trails abound.

Interior Designer, Christina Salway, worked with the clients to bring their vision to life. Christina did an incredible job putting thoughtful touches in each room of the treehouse.

A gas fireplace sets the mood for a relaxing evening in the trees. Cuddle up with a book, play cards, drink wine or just be.

The downstairs bunkroom features two extra large twin beds with luxurious bedding and its own 3/4 bathroom.

The whitewashed Doug Fir wall paneling gives the treehouse a light and airy feel.

The master suite boasts an elegant king size bed and windows looking out into the forest. Nelson Treehouse used VG Doug Fir to trim out the Marvin Windows.

The ceilings in the bedrooms and bathrooms are mixed species reclaimed barnwood specially sourced for this project.

Staying at The Woods is an opportunity to immerse in an unforgettable luxury experience. Create a stay that’s tranquil or totally over the top, it’s yours for the making.
